Morning Comes Odd Hours (dVerse Quadrille)

Quadrille written for dVerse poets, using the prompt “morning”.

Morning comes to me

At odd hours, for Time and I

Do battle, gently…

Autumn soul born of shadows

Twilight, midnight—dawn calls ‘sleep’

Rare now-n-then, eyes

Feast upon pale splendored day

Sun’s rays arise, shine…

God’s glorious grace rests light

On drowsy poet

(glimpse of author’s hall)

I must be

Eclectic type

From meals I cook

“Distressed” decor

To whom I favor

Inside my door

This 3-room haven

Is part museum

A chapel, library

I enjoy various genres

Books, movies

And write all moods…

Sound like

I’m eclectic type?

Wrap Me In Dream (Quadrille)

My quadrille for the d’Verse challenge, in which the prompt word is WRAP.

Wrap me in sultry palms swaying

I’ll wear hibiscus lei…nothing more

You’ll be salt-tang breeze

Coming off waves, scent

Echoing sun on sand, heat

Of Somewhere-Fire’s embers

Wrap me in dream that doesn’t end

With your refusal to open door

To me—
