Cotton and Blood

Our friend, Mark S, offers another haiku prompt, “Cotton”.  This guy knows just about Everything, I’m convinced.  If you haven’t visited his blog, you’re missing out!  Click the link to meet him—and learn something!

And now my haiku/senryu:

Cotton blossoms white

Raw pickers’ hands drip scarlet

Blood of servitude

~

Sharp bolls cut meanly

Back breaking labor, long days

Sing of “Promised Land”
