Change is Brewing as we
Imagine Whirled Peace
And fret about another
Economic Crunch
This is Crazy
Amid brutal heatwave I’m
Half-Baked, brain turned
To Wavy Gravy
Useless fans blow hot air
Muse has melted, thus
Sweaty writing trickles
Down…at best, just fair
But I’ve one solution
Just a little sugar
Late Night Snack:
Tall pineapple slushy…
Having chilled, I reckon
Muse will be back😉

Oh what a good one! You used so many of the flavors and used them well in a coherent story that your poem tells! Yep…it was 100 degrees in Boston on Sunday and boy did I feel half-baked!
Glad you posted to dVerse. I reopened Mr. Linky and added your poem to it. HOpefully others will drop by to read.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your compliment. I have a small 2nd-floor apartment just north of Seattle–and when it’s 80 degrees outside, it’s 90 inside my place–and I don’t tolerate heat well. HUD housing doesn’t allow us to have A/C units. Maybe if one of us keels over dead, they’ll rethink the policy. Everyone in the Pacific NW lives for summer–except me, I dread this crazy historic heat craze. Take care, Lillian–stay hydrated!

Well you summed up (quite well) in poetic form what so many of us are experiencing. Stay as cool as you possibly can. Cheers from Bend Oregon.

Hello Helen, in Bend! Thanks much–I’ve become a La Croix sparkling water addict just in time for the Heat! Take care, and God bless you💙

Your muse is very much with you! What a delightful verse! And yes, heat can be killing. We have some respite with monsoons being kind.

Thanks much, Punam…it’s tempting to pray for a monsoon, though we don’t have them in my region. But I’d settle for a good hard thunderstorm and BIG pewter rain puddles, haha! Blessings to you💙

I know you can’t have monsoons but I do hope you get your big pewter rain puddle! (It sounds so poetic!) Wishing you cooling rains.

You’re so kind, dear. I don’t expect we will get rain any time soon–I check the forecast obsessively! We’re not allowed to have air conditioning units here in government subsidized housing–everyone’s suffering. But I make delish pineapple slushies–using pineapple sherbet and pineapple juice😊 Take good care of YOU–blessings💖
